In October 2026 the coding agent stopped waiting for you: OpenCode became a background service, Copilot sandboxing went GA, and a router started picking which model — and soon which machine — does each job.

Summary

OpenCode 2.0: background service, API, 75+ models
Copilot 1.141: sandboxing GA, side-by-side sessions
HydraFusion: single, cascade, critique routing
Local models: Copilot work that never leaves your PC
Your setup: queue, agent, gate, review
