Apple buys Ascend.io's data team as agents learn to pay for clean data

Apple has struck a deal for Ascend.io's data-pipeline talent, licence and patents, and Dataline has raised $10.6 million to sell data to agents by the call. Two very different deals, one message: in the agent era, the bottleneck is not the model — it is whether the data underneath it can be trusted.
